Here’s how serious One Line Coffee is about its slow-drip skills: When the Brewers Cup was held in Atlanta in 2016, the Ohio cafe had not one but two of its baristas (Mick Evans and Sean Hundley) competing for the national championship. This won’t come as a surprise to anyone who has been to One Line’s flagship in Columbus’ Short North neighborhood or its weekdays-only satellite near Capitol Square. The coffeeshop highlights a wide range of in-house roasts using four different brewing methods: a Hario V60, Kalita Wave, Chemex, and good old-fashioned French press. A cold-drip concentrate—extracted ever so slowly from the same Kyoto-style tower that Blue Bottle uses—and carefully calibrated espresso drinks are also available, along with a well-stocked case of local pastries from bakeries like Patty Cake, Purple Sage, Destination Donuts, and Cherbourg. Keep an eye on the company’s Twitter feed for details on special events, like a coffee-and-beer-pairing class with Wolf’s Ridge Brewing.
