“Coffee For a Cause” is the modus operandi at Bay’s Cafe, an indoor/outdoor pour-over bar tucked behind the counter of the Chiang Mai restaurant Food4Thought. True to its mission, head barista Bay Sareephan is working to raise 500,000 baht (nearly $14,000 USD) a year for his local community by 2024; proceeds benefit local at-risk youth and provide business and educational grants. Sareephan is a freak about quality control, so you can bet your freshly bottled cold brew (now available with coconut milk), kombucha, or latte is top of the line. Single-origin beans are sourced from such esteemed roasters as Akha Ama, Blanchard’s, and Monmouth. Cash only.
