The gig economy is alive and well at Please & Thank You in Louisville, Kentucky. Locals love it because they can work in peace and sunlight; fuel up with a “never-ending” diner mug service ($3/cup) or fancier concoctions like a ganache latte; and stuff themselves on addictively gooey chocolate chip cookies until they’re rolled out on a gurney. The P&TY on Frankfort Avenue is newer, but we like the original East Market location because Mr. Friendly Records sells primo vinyl, cassettes, and 8-tracks in the back room.
