Rival Bros. started out as a coffee roaster on wheels, with chef Jonathan Adams and La Colombe vet Damien Pileggi serving pour-over throughout downtown Philadelphia. These days they have permanent spaces near Fitler Square and Rittenhouse Square, and what handsome spaces they are. Stop in for a bag of their popular Revolver or Whistle & Cuss blends, along with pastries from High Street on Market and Machine Shop Boulangerie, third-wave brewing gear from Hario and Bonavita, and specialty drinks like a nitro cold brew float with caramel corn or honey plum ice cream from Weckerly’s. WiFi warriors, don’t be shy about bringing a laptop and getting some work done, either. Rival Bros. is good and quiet like that.
