Pizza doesn’t get more perfect than the Detroit-style pies at Via 313 in Austin. When brother-owners Zane and Brandon Hunt came down from Michigan, they brought with them fond memories of classic pie joints like Loui’s, Niki’s, and Buddy’s. And they’re not about to let those legacies down. The pan-baked square beauties at Via 313 get every detail right, from the thick, chewy Sicilian-style crust and generous layers of quality cheese and pepperoni to the fat stripes of tangy marinara. The siblings started with a food truck in late 2011 and now have two full-service locations serving pizza, craft beer, salads, and crowd-pleasing apps like house-made meatballs, roasted artichokes, and cheese bread. Pssst, Chicago deep dish: Consider yourself on notice.
