Hot dogs are hugely popular in Thailand, as they are elsewhere in Asia. Street vendors shill them on every other corner, usually skewered and deep-fried or split and grilled over charcoal. They make cameos in the strangest places, from croissants and doughnuts to waffles and crepes. Yet Bangkok didn’t get its first Danish-style hot dogs until Foodstop showed up in Thonglor with its bright yellow food truck and cheerful “Be Happy and Eat Hotdog” motto. Here you’ve got the Danish original made with remoulade, ketchup, mustard, and chopped and fried onion, and the Zaab, with spicy “E-sarn” sauce, ketchup, mayo, cabbage, sweet corn, and fried onion. Sounds weird but it works.
