🍫🌮🍫🌮 Remember those? Of course you do. Now you can chomp into the artisanal version at HUB Ice Cream Factory in Tucson, Arizona. The shell is made with a fresh-baked waffle cone, stuffed with your choice of classic vanilla or salted caramel ice cream, rimmed in rich dark chocolate, and pummeled with peanuts. It’s an absolute delight to eat, but unlike the store-bought Klondike version, it is not shot through with “fudge swirls” or encased in a crispy chocolate coating. (Boooooo.)
Check the HUB freezer case for other grab-and-go treats, including Whoopie pies, cherry creamsicles, and inventive ice cream sandwiches. Cup-and-cone traditionalists, meanwhile, might take a gander at the seasonal menu. The shop cycles through hundreds of unique, made-from-scratch flavors, including Banana Nutella, Mexican Wedding Cookie, Corn Bread & Honey, Oatmeal Cookie Dough, and Purple Sweet Potato Pie. Located on a prime stretch of Congress Street, HUB is a popular stop-off after dinner; it’s open till 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 2 a.m. on weekends.
