Lots of tourists make it to Lumpini Park in Bangkok. Fewer hitch the BTS to the Mo Chit station to picnic and paddle swan boats in nearby Chatuchak Park. And even fewer know to cut through Chatuchak and head to beautiful, sprawling Wachira Benchathat, a.k.a. Rot Fai Park, a garden-like public oasis with miles of shaded bike paths and idyllic ponds dotted with lily pads and lotus blooms. Just watch out for the land monitors—they’re huge and they’re everywhere.
