Tacos Mi Tierra in Harrisburg, PA, looks like a grubby little nothing from the outside. And that’s exactly how we—and the Allison Hill locals—like it. In front, you’ve got a traditional Mexican grocery store and, um, gambling hall; the front left wall is lined with “games of chance.” In back: heavenly cooked meats heaped into fresh corn tortillas, plus all the salsa you can handle. Lengua, carne asada, barbacoa—there’s no protein this family-run taqueria doesn’t get right. A little onion, a little cilantro, a squeeze of lime… perfecto. (They also make a mean torta, if that’s your thing.)
Might we suggest a pitstop the next time you’re doing that miserable slog between Philly and Pittsburgh, or vice versa?
