When making the vintage rounds in Lexington, Kentucky, start your picking at Feather Your Nest, a multi-dealer antiques store loaded with funky frosted state tumblers, old typewriters and radios, elegant fur stoles, and preppy letterman sweaters. Next, hit up Pop’s Resale just up the road; it’s 6,000 square feet of mondo vinyl (including thousands of 45s and 78s), vintage gaming consoles, dusty stereo equipment, well-worn band tees, rad leather jackets, and the occasional gas mask (why…?). Last but not least, get your butt out to Street Scene, pictured here, for the motherlode of 1950s, ’60s, and ’70s clothing, housewares, and furniture. It’s a grab bag of epic proportions—you may walk out with a kitty-cat apron, a Bowie-esque mannequin head, or a tufted canary yellow bar stool. One can never predict these things and that’s half the fun.
