Alpine Modern opened its new Boulder shop on a bustling block of West Pearl, joining like-minded downtown stores like Cedar & Hyde and Fjallraven. The company’s design-savvy spin on Rocky Mountain living follows the Saturdays NYC model, with a coffee bar tucked in the back of a light-filled space that stocks handsome notebooks, ceramic flasks, wood coasters, cozy blankets, waxed canvas bags, and other inessentials for living your most photogenic outdoor life. There are even house-made candles that smell like Colorado itself—piney and pristine.
The company also runs a sun-drenched cafe near the Columbia Cemetery and University of Colorado Boulder campus. Like its sister shop, it’s all about the Insta-bait here, from a lunch bowl lined with beets, apples, fennel, watercress, crushed almonds, and mint to sweet and savory tartines topped with smoked trout, a six-minute egg, and a combo of smashed avocado and watermelon radish.
