No exaggeration, Freda is one of the best little boutiques in Texas. Owner Susannah Lipsey has an outrageously good eye, not just for functional pottery (like this pretty lineup of lavender mugs from Marfa ceramicist Thomas Cole Brown), but for all things high-desert bohemian. Get ready to #wantwantwant all the Pamela Love jewelry, Brother Vellies slides, David Scheid stained glass, quilted Grouper tees, heavenly Mondo Mondo fragrances, Fredericks & Mae cedar rope incense, and palo santo wood bundles. Like everywhere else in Marfa, the hours are a little wonky: Wednesdays through Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Mondays and Tuesdays are by appointment only.
And hey, good news for our friends in New Orleans: Lipsey has opened a satellite Freda at the Ace Hotel NOLA, featuring local collabs with creatives from Louisiana’s DIY-or-die community. The hours here are a bit longer: Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
