If there is such a thing as a status hoodie, this is it: the lightweight, fitted, zip-up sweatshirts from Loopwheeler. The Tokyo brand, founded in 1999 by Satoshi Suzuki, follows a #slowfashion ethos, knitting all of its athleisure wear on hanging Tsuriami machines (of which there are only 400 in Japan). Go to the Sendagaya flagship to see one of the vintage weavers in action and to load up on versatile sweats. In addition to hoodies, the label makes sweatpants, pullovers, and rad fabric sneakers, including occasional collaborations with such like-minded behemoths as Beams, Nike, Woolrich, and Monocle. Beyond the capital, look for Loopwheeler outposts in Osaka and Fukuoka.
