High-waisted ESCADA trousers, patterned Hermès silk ties, tartan plaid Burberry wrap skirts: Mannequin Boutique is the El Dorado of luxury vintage in Cincinnati’s Over the Rhine district. The shop’s GM is a fashion stylist who routinely models their newest gets on Instagram. Her deep sartorial background means she can help you assemble some pretty fly looks, drawing from a mix of big-name labels and no-name awesomeness. The windows here are also an inspiration. A recent display was devoted to Bobbie Corbean, Cincinnati’s first black fashion director. She passed away in 2008, leaving behind an influential legacy and a closet full of Vogue-worthy clothes. The coat pictured below belonged to Corbean. It’s not for sale, alas, but don’t feel bad splashing out on that vintage Japanese kimono or orange leather Furla bag: Proceeds benefit seven local non-profits, including the FreeStore Foodbank and the United Coalition for Animals’ spay and neuter clinic.
