KEXP’s newly launched Gathering Space is more than just a public venue for watching live performances and sipping La Marzocco coffee from such rotating small-batch roasters as G&B, Campos, Panther, and Cat & Cloud. It’s also the new location of Light in the Attic Records. The pop-up shop doesn’t just stock the left-field LPs (Rodriguez, Lee Hazelwood, Françoise Hardy) that made Light in the Attic one of the country’s strongest reissue imprints. It’s also a clearinghouse for clean used vinyl (everything from N.W.A to Guns N’ Roses to David Bowie), plus new releases from revered indie labels like Death Waltz, Warp, and Stones Throw. LITA signed a lease through March 2017, but our hope is that a big show of support could lead to a more permanent residency.
