On its Facebook page, Grind Size Bangkok in Phrom Phong describes itself as “an ordinary Thai coffee cafe and coffee bean showroom.”
Yeesh, guys—could you undersell yourselves a little more?
If the Bangkok café won’t talk about why it rules, we will: (1) It supports all Thailand-based roasters, including Chiang Mai’s Cottontree, Roast Runner, and The Alisons. (2) The light-filled space is large and largely empty, despite sitting next door to the popular Shinsen Fish Market. (3) It is mega photogenic with its Caribbean blue walls and fly lady street art. (4) The cold brew is poured from crystal decanters served on pretty wooden trays. (5) Sweets like lemon pie and grilled banana-and-macadamia nut bread are fresh and tasty, brought in daily from the neighbors at Sweet Pista. (6) A wall o’ random things for sale includes ceramics, coffee blossom tea, and sneakers. (7) Even the water here tastes better, infused as it is with butterfly pea.
