Vintage addict Michael Brown had a good reason to open retrOKC in Oklahoma City’s Plaza District six years ago: He was running out of room to store his growing collection of midcentury marvels. In a perfect world, the former UPS driver would never unload his Space Age TV sets, luau-ready tiki mugs, kitschy-cool kitchenware, or groovy Scandinavian furniture. Lucky for us, the world is not a perfect place. Fortunately, Brown’s prices are as fair as his eye is sharp. He’s great for a chat and deeply knowledgeable about everything in his shop, from a rainbow stack of color-coded Ingrid plasticware to a badass 1950s low-rider Formica coffee table. Everyone needs one of those, right?
