The best F&B in Las Vegas isn’t found in hotels and casinos; it’s in the strip malls. Take Mothership Coffee in Henderson, for example. It’s about 10 miles southeast of the Strip and shares a parking lot with a Dollar Tree, a cat hospital, and a headshop. Couple Joshua Walter and Juanny Romero first entered the café game with Sunrise Coffee about a decade ago; it was a hit with the UNLV students because of its location, although the menu of healthy-ish vegan fare helped, too. Mothership’s metronome, meanwhile, is set to a strict third-wave beat. What you see here is its hops-infused, nitro-powered cold brew made with beans sourced from Ethiopia and roasted by Walter himself. The shop is a touch tight on space, but there is additional seating outside if you can take the heat. FYI, the locally baked pastries are bonkers popular: Arrive early if you want the widest selection of strawberry-passionfruit cruffins, chocolate croissant twists, and white chocolate butterscotch pecan scones.
