VisionQuest is one of the best-kept secrets in Boulder’s massive craft beer scene. Co-founded by Adam Kandle, Greg Foley, and Greg Kallfa, the low-key taproom is run by the same folks behind the stellar Boulder Fermentation Supply shop next door. Intrepid home brewers have been raiding that joint since 2013, buying gear for D.I.Y. beer, mead, sake, kombucha, kvass, and kefir. To get inspired, pull up a bar stool and tuck into VisionQuest’s house draft lines; they pump out micro batches of bizarro IPAs, goses, Belgians, and weissbiers. You’d be surprised by the unusual ingredients (morels, coconut flakes, guava, hibiscus) that get incorporated. Plow through small pours of whatever intrigues you and keep an eye on the parking lot; the bar occasionally invites food trucks over to feed the fanboys.
