Patina Décor in downtown Las Vegas trades in luxe vintage home furnishings—everything from Art Deco milk glass pendant lamps and Danish Modern loungers to glittery wet bars and silver-plated faux bamboo Maison Bagues bar carts. Most of these pieces demand serious bank, but don’t write off the entire store based on a few spendy staples. Look closer and you’ll notice that co-owners Kate Aldrich and Tim Shaffer also sell a marvelous selection of old-world barware and vintage clothing. Prices are on par with shops in New York, Los Angeles, and Miami, but the pieces are in great condition. Pillbox hats, sequined cocktail dresses, flowing kimonos, and negligees trimmed in marabou recall the ladylike stylings of Dita Von Teese and her countless coiffed predecessors. At the other end of the sartorial spectrum, Patina keeps a hippie-dreamy collection of Laurel Canyon frocks on hand. Worth a browse, to say the least.
