For our boudoir thrills, we’d choose Pittsburgh’s Calligramme over Victoria’s Secret any day. The Lawrenceville standout has a unique specialty: American-made lingerie. Nothing sleazy, either—only pretty, playful pieces like ombre briefs and mesh tunics from Uye Surana, peekaboo skivvies from Andree Ciccarelli, thigh highs from Commando, metallic hipsters by Only Hearts, and all manner of pin-up hotness from Rago Shapewear. Founder Marissa Vogel has also assembled a sweet selection of vintage lingerie and loungewear from the 1930s-1970s: Think silk pajama sets, cropped bed jackets, showgirl bustiers, coquettish slips, and maxi nightgowns with lace overlays. Old Playboys, tumbling greenery, and album sleeves from badass women round out the anti-Vicky’s vibes.
