Though you wouldn’t know it was there unless someone told you—unmarked, four stories up in the DS building, located on a serene stretch of Fukuoka’s hip Imaizumi neighborhood—Dreieck Park (ドライエックパーク) isn’t a speakeasy. It’s the living room none of us can afford, complete with handsome blonde wood chairs, luxe leather couches, lighting that belongs in a design museum, and a bar so big and beautiful and amorphously shaped, it appears to stretch for miles in every direction. There is no English menu, but the gentlemen barkeeps bend over backward to accommodate their guests. Best to stick with the classics here: Dreieck’s signature is a mojito muddled with handfuls of fresh mint, and made as dry or as sweet as you like.
